What is a Hazard Risk Assessment
Is an inspection process that is utilized to identify and assess hazards and establish and monitor the effectiveness of all control measures. Hazards are recognized by not only their actual potential, but by their suspected potential to cause injury, illness and property damage. The three sources of hazards present in the workplace are human, situational and environmental. The study and analysis of the source of hazards provides the opportunity to not only identify hazards but how to eliminate or best control them. We will complete a walk-through of the workplace to identify hazards. We will look for actual, observable exposures to hazards and potential exposures to hazards.
A Hazard Assessment and the elimination and /or control of hazards are very important parts of the overall regulatory approach to workplace safety and keeping employees safe.
